Allow Me To Introduce Myself
Etherheat™ photo by Jim Fuhr
I'm Charlie Athanas. I am the graphic artist, Marketing Director, and sometime interviewer for WildClaw Theatre. You can see my work outside of WildClaw at Burning City, Inc. and The Devil's Candy Store. Not all of us will be foolish enough to expose our identities to the horde of zombies that you are, but I've never been known for wise choices.
Enjoy BLOOD RADIO!
Zombie Walk Chicago June 21st, 2008
Also at the Flashback Weekend in the following week in June, there will be a Zombie Pinup Beauty Pageant that sounds tempting as well as a costume contest. Weeee! And don't forget to look for Wildclaw's own Dr. AC and the rest of the Wildclaw company at the event and at Wizard World Chicago!

Aly brings you a little old school Horror Fun!
I am doing the costumes for Collaboraction's Sketchbook '08, a short-play festival opening May 15th at the Steppenwolf Garage and running to June 16th. Here is a fun production still from a video shoot we did on wednesday night for the play Count Orlok's Castle in which two horror movie genres collide with interesting results. These are two characters from a black and white "Nosferatu" style film. I did the costumes and the makeup. Enjoy a little old school horror fun and come out to see the show!

Vampires Win!
Vampire flick, Let The Right One In, won the prize for best narrative at Robert De Niro's Tribeca Film Festival in New York last night. A Swedish film by Tomas Alfredson, Let The Right One In, has a great international trailer even without subtitles for us monolingual louts.
International Trailer for Let The Right One In:

Deathdream and great zombie performances
Jim Crut in Dawn of the Dead (1978) as the zombie who has the top of his head lopped off by the helicopter blades. He looked like ODDBOD from “Carry on Screaming”
Mindy Clarke as Julie in “Return of the Living Dead Part 3”
Telly Savalas as the Cossack captain in “Horror Express”
S. William Hinzman as the zombie in the graveyard at the beginning of “Night of the Living Dead” (1968)
Elizabeth Moody as Mum in “Braindead” (1992)
Howard Sherman as Bub in “Day of the Dead” (1985)
And…..
Ermes Blasarin as the bloated woman who briefly becomes a zombie in the remake of “Dawn of the Dead” (2004)
And I definitely recommend seeing “Deathdream” if you haven’t before.
