Dream Theatre: Tribute to Arch Oboler

People should go see this....
And if you are saying, "Who is Arch Oboler?"...then first you should feel the crisp slap I just delivered across your face for being so dumb....then you should drop what you are doing and go listen to these radio plays.

Sci Fy's Face Off

Lady Morlock and I watched the first episode of season 4 of Sci Fy's Face Off a night or two ago. Great stuff for fans of fantasy, horror, movie making and geekery.

Although this bizarre love child of Crispin Glover and Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg here is plenty earnest, entertaining and talented, the real standout is, of course, J. Anthony Kosar.

He handily won both the Immunity Challenge and the Achievement Challenge and was gracious, professional and cool throughout. If this show features any "Survivor" style back-biting, bitching and ganging-up, he'd better watch his back. If it's a purely talent-based competition, it might be a bloody, latex-y cakewalk.

Either way, it's pretty fun viewing, and this from a man who loathes reality television. Although if Lady Morlock twists his arm enough, he might admit to having enjoyed an episode or two of Project Runway -- although that was mostly because of the company in which he watched it.

WildClawians Create Spooky Fun for Kids!

Last week, WildClaw's literary manager Scott T. Barsotti and casting director Casey Cunningham opened THE MYSTERY OF THE PIRATE GHOST at Lifeline Theatre in Rogers Park!  The show is a brand new adaptation of Geoffrey Hayes' children's book, directed by Paul Holmquist and crafted by our own Mr. Barsotti.  Cunningham plays the role of Otto, a young alligator hungry for excitement.  Otto embarks with his uncle and friends on an incredible adventure to catch a thieving ghost who's been wreaking havoc on the sleepy sea town of Boogle Bay.  The show has already received great press and features exciting original music from two of Casey's ElvisBride bandmates, Troy Martin and Matt Test!  You can watch a preview here!  The show runs every Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 1pm at Lifeline Theatre, through February 17th.  Congratulations to Scott and Casey, we can't wait to get spooked!

Rent The Loved Ones for a really weird movie date night.

Seriously.  This movie is WEIRD but fantastic.  I was genuinely disturbed and haunted by it.  It gets into some pretty intense torture terrain (though 'refreshingly' not about torturing women)...but it is more the story, the great cast, the acting, and the great camera work that kept me uncomfortably interested in this film.  I would love to hear your take on it.
