Vampires Win!

Vampire flick, Let The Right One In, won the prize for best narrative at Robert De Niro's Tribeca Film Festival in New York last night. A Swedish film by Tomas Alfredson, Let The Right One In, has a great international trailer even without subtitles for us monolingual louts.

Excellent. Of course, the subtitles are probably what put it over the edge from "just another vampire film" to "oh, it's art."

Either way, we'll take it as a victory for our side.

Looks lovely. Glowing review on cinematical.com.
The subject of my very first schoolboy crush was really an ancient-souled bloodsucker too, come to think of it. Such a tease; never showed me her underpants.

Look forward to seeing a good (horror) film with characters that age. Remember how poignant and painful every little thing could be? Puppy love and vampirism. I'm down with it.

Yippee for arty vampire flicks. The last one I can think of is The Hunger...
